Meet the Founder: Keri Shaw

 When Keri was diagnosed with young-onset Parkinson’s, it felt like a gut punch—a disruption to the life she had worked so hard to build. An avid marathoner, triathlete, and all-around talented athlete, Keri was used to pushing through challenges. She solo raised two daughters, built a successful 20-plus-year career in pharmaceuticals, but this diagnosis was something entirely new.

Keri had already learned a powerful truth from an earlier chapter in her life of recovery: focusing on others, uplifting those around her, and staying connected within a community allowed her to shift focus to something bigger than herself. So when faced with Parkinson’s, she asked, “How am I going to stay focused and grateful? How will I keep showing up?” The answer? Kind Bomb.

Now, Keri can be seen handing out Kind Bombs all over Austin and anywhere she travels. She carries them with her, and whenever someone crosses her path who inspires her, she stops, hands them a Kind Bomb, and says, "In case no one told you this today..."

Keri knew the magic of making connections, even in the smallest ways. With Kind Bomb, she creates micro-connections that often blossom into friendships, because everyone has a story—and when we take the time to connect, we discover we have more in common than we think. Through these connections, Keri continues to spread kindness, focusing on others while reinventing her own life and future with Parkinson’s.
